Clinton O'Brien, Vice President of Nonprofit Services

Clint joined Care2 in 2005 to lead the team of professionals who today serve more than 1000 leading nonprofits that rely on Care2 as a preferred source for recruiting new donors, promoting causes and winning advocacy victories.

Previously, Clint spent seven years at nonprofit TV network PBS, where he led business development and forged alliances with AOL, NPR, Intel and other organizations. He also led the project to equip local PBS stations with tools for online fundraising, and for three years led the PBS Adult Learning Service, providing online and video courses to colleges nationwide. In a former life, Clint worked for seven years as a reporter for Newsweek, the Associated Press and other news organizations. From 1991 to 1993, he reported from Moscow during the Kremlin coup, the USSR collapse and Russia's transition to a market economy. He is the 1989 winner of the National Press Club Washington Correspondence Prize.

Clint founded and led the monthly "Wharton Nonprofit Roundtable," a group of more than 120 Washington, DC-area alumni of the Wharton School of Business, all of whom work in the nonprofit sector.

Eric Glader, Director of Nonprofit Services

Eric has been with Care2 since 2001 helping nonprofits with advocacy, fundraising and membership growth. Prior to joining Care2, he worked at an ePhilanthropy application service provider that enabled the collection of charitable donations online, with clients such as American Express, Cisco Systems, E*Trade, Applied Materials and NEC. He started off his philanthropy career at The Nature Conservancy.

Glader is a graduate from UCLA’s undergraduate program and Vanderbilt University’s MBA program.

Justin Perkins, Director of Nonprofit Services

Since 2006, Justin has worked with Care2 to help over 100 nonprofits across a wide variety of issues customize strategic campaigns to reach and recruit millions of supporters from Care2's vast community.  He launched the nonprofit marketing blog, frogloop.com as a way for Care2 to share case studies and best practices for nonprofit online marketing, advocacy and fundraising, and he developed one of the first social network ROI calculators to help nonprofits plan and evaluate their social media efforts. He is passionate about helping nonprofits use a data-driven, efficient approach to online marketing.

Justin has an MBA from the University of Colorado and in addition to working a variety of jobs ranging from picking organic peas to writing a book on the use of networks at the National Defense University, Justin has a passion for international development and indigeneous rights through studies in Brazil and South Africa where he helped start a human rights nonprofit for Pygmies in Congo called Afrique Profonde. 

Justin volunteers on the Strategy Committee for the Boulder Farmers Market, served on the Board of Prevent Human Trafficking, and enjoys climbing peaks, trail running, skiing, and selling his original, flavored roasted nuts at the farmers markets on the weekends in Boulder, Colorado.

Eric Rardin, Senior Director of Nonprofit Services

As senior director of nonprofit services at Care2 Eric has helped over 100 nonprofits grow their online fundraising programs and recruit hundreds of thousands of supporters. Eric also serves as a member of the board of directors for two national nonprofits, the Marine Fish Conservation Network and Humane Farm Animal Care.

Prior to joining Care2 Eric designed and executed integrated advocacy campaigns for environmental nonprofits for more than seven years. Most recently, at the Marine Fish Conservation Network (MFCN), Eric helped lead a coalition of 190 organizations to successfully reauthorize the national law governing fishing in U.S. ocean waters. At the National Environmental Trust (NET), Eric helped design and implement several campaigns including NET’s ‘Take a Pass on Chilean Sea Bass’ and Magnuson-Stevens Act reform campaigns. Eric also developed and led NET’s marine mammal project.

Eric has an MBA from the Carey School of Business at Johns Hopkins University, an MA in government and international studies from the University of South Carolina and a BS in political science from the University of Wyoming.

Ryann Miller, Director of Nonprofit Services

A specialist in online and integrated fundraising and campaigning with a special emphasis on online media, Ryann works with nonprofits to help them recruit passionate supporters from Care2. Prior to joining Care2, Ryann co-founded DonorTrends, a leading fundraising intelligence service that helps nonprofits uncover hidden potential in their donor files.

Before that Ryann was an online fundraising consultant at HJC New Media, where she worked with leading nonprofits to leverage the internet in nonprofit fundraising, advocacy and marketing. Past clients include Greenpeace International, The International Campaign for Tibet, Amnesty International and a variety of humanitarian, relief, environmental, and health based organizations

Co-author of “The Web of Integration: Fully Integrated Fundraising Campaigns” and "Insight Tools for Surviving and Thriving" and speaker at fundraising conferences, Ryann is a PhD dropout (focus area: North American modern Buddhism), owns an off-grid island summer cottage and lives with her husband, two year old son, and dog Hank.

Ashley Hansen, Director of Nonprofit Services

Ashley works with nonprofits to win advocacy campaigns, build lists of supporters and drive traffic to their website or cause. Prior to joining Care2, Ashley spent 10 years at the Student Conservation Association (SCA) where she helped young people start careers in conservation. Ashley held many roles including Environmental Educator, Recruiter, Office Manager, Alumni Coordinator and Partnership Representative. In her last role, Ashley traveled throughout the Southeast United States visiting National Parks, Forests, Refuges, Historic Sites and other public lands to partner with land managers. She helped build programs for hundreds of young people to volunteer on their public lands. These SCA volunteers spent 3 weeks to a year working as a biologist, trail builder, forester, environmental educator, historian, planner and more.

Throughout her life, Ashley has visited over 200 public lands only to come home to find her favorite National Park, the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, right here in DC. In addition, she presented at several conferences per year and was an invited speaker to Federal leadership teams.

Ashley earned an Engineering Science degree from Vanderbilt University and joined Care2 in 2011 where she is thrilled to be expanding her reach to include other causes.

Molly Connors, Director of Nonprofit Services

Molly learned first hand the power of having a ready and dedicated list of supporters to turn to for support and donations during her many years with PBS. Molly was one of a team of three who started PBS Online in the mid 1990s, the precursor to pbs.org.

Molly started her marketing career over 20 years ago on the front lines... working in customer service for a Richmond, Virginia cable company. Those early lessons in the importance of providing exceptional customer service were invaluable as she built a career in marketing and business development with companies such as C-SPAN, The Learning Channel (TLC), PBS, the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and most recently in starting her own Women Owned Small Business providing marketing services and branded product solutions to clients.

When not helping nonprofits recruit new donors and supporters, you can find Molly enjoying time with her family at her home near Weems Creek in Annapolis, Maryland.

Molly graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a BA in history.

Rhiannan Sullivan, Director of Not for Profit Services (UK)

Rhiannan is Director of not for profit services and business development for Care2 in the UK and is responsible for the growth and development of Care2 and it's services across Europe.

Rhiannan works with charities and not for profit organisations to help grow their online fundraising programmes. Specifically, she helps these organisations to recruit passionate supporters from among Care2’s millions of engaged members. She also helps clients to achieve their advocacy, membership growth and advertising goals by leveraging Care2’s audience and resources.

Prior to joining Care2, Rhiannan was Director of Business Development at Blue State Digital, specialists in online fundraising and engagement, helping clients build and engage online communities. Organisations that Rhiannan worked with include political and advocacy campaigns, charities, cultural institutions and global consumer brands.

In her spare time Rhiannan runs her own small business selling brunch as a pop up service (poached eggs, bubble + squeak and bloody marys) in London and generally loves all things food related!

Adam Reyer, Director of Business Development

Adam Reyer of Care2Adam joined Care2 to expand its Take Action Platform (TAP), a network of web publisher partners that promotes the campaigns of Care2’s nonprofit clients. TAP partners generate revenue and grow their customer database, while expanding the reach of Care2’s nonprofit services to over 150 million people. Adam has an extensive digital media business development and operations background and works out of New York City to access its high concentration of web publishers and leading media industry resources.

Prior to Care2, Adam provided business development consulting services to early stage start-ups in the digital video, mobile and social gaming markets. He previously co-founded Vaya Mobile, which provided mobile marketing services to nonprofit, for profit and government clients. Prior to that, Adam launched XM Radio Mobile, at the satellite radio pioneer, and led digital media business development for global media company Discovery Communications. Adam began his digital media career as an onsite strategic consultant to AOL in the late nineties.

Adam loves digital media, technology and consumer electronics gadgets, as well as music, all sports and animals. He holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and a BS in Engineering from University of Pennsylvania.

Tim Robinson, Director of Nonprofit Services

Tim Robinson of Care2Based in New York City, Tim utilizes Care2’s vast network of passionate supporters to assist nonprofits with their fundraising, advocacy, and membership recruitment efforts. Prior to joining Care2, Tim co-founded an interactive marketing company solely focused on supporting socially minded organizations. He worked with wonderful nonprofits such as the Haitian Health Foundation (HHF) and The Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (CHRGJ), to name a few.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys living an active and healthy lifestyle. It’s not uncommon to spot him on the tennis court or enjoying a jog in Central Park. He also has a knack for international traveling. These interests guided him to success in his previous sales positions in the health food and tourism industries.

Tim earned a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and studied Marketing at the University of Richmond.

Ned Baker, Nonprofit Services Manager

Ned Baker joined Care2 in 2009 as a Business Development Associate and currently manages the monthly webinar program, conference agenda, and other aspects of Care2's nonprofit marketing. Before joining Care2, Ned enjoyed years of international exposure including work as an agriculture extension agent in northern Zambia through the U.S. Peace Corps, where he gained a working knowledge of grassroots efforts aimed at improving livelihoods of the rural poor.

Ned has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh, which includes training in rhetoric, economics, and foundations of law. His academic and professional pursuits have provided him experience in the fields of law, politics, sales, and international development. Community service has always been close to his heart: from volunteering in church to planting trees along city streets, Ned continues to be an advocate of the locally-focused approach to development.

When not traveling or geeking-out over Apple products, Ned enjoys spending time with family in Western New York, and visiting his two brothers, three nieces and one nephew.

Kara Fujita, Nonprofit Services Manager

Kara joined the Care2 business development team in 2011 with a passion for helping nonprofits succeed in their advocacy and fundraising goals. Prior to joining Care2, Kara was in Chile working for Amnesty International's Urgent Action program and anti-poverty campaign, through which she developed a particular interest in government and corporate accountability and community activism.

Kara has a BA in International Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she focused on Latin American studies, international politics, and educational outreach.

Theresa Anoje, Nonprofit Services Intern

Theresa is a junior at Cornell University and an intern for Care2's DC Office. A native of Western Massachusetts, her interest in social advocacy began with volunteer work at Loaves and Fishes, American Red Cross, and other groups through her high school Key Club. Since then she has explored the public and nonprofit sector with a major in Government, minors in Policy Analysis and Management (PAM) and Education, as well as coursework in economics, inequality studies, and international development.

Theresa has pursued her interest in education policy through leadership roles in student organizations such as Students for Education Reform and Early College Awareness, along with teaching assistant roles in various classroom settings. She also serves as the Co-Editor in Chief of IMARA Magazine, a publication tailored to multicultural female Cornell students.

Theresa is currently participating in the Cornell in Washington Program, and hopes to take full advantage of DC’s food scene before leaving for the semester.

Joe Baker, Vice President of Causes and Advocacy

Joe Baker joined Care2 as Director of Nonprofit Campaigns in August 2006. He now manages Care2's campaigning and also oversees Care2's Cause Channels.

Previously, Joe was the Executive Director of N-TEN. He also worked for Amnesty International for many years as the Director of Internet Communications, Grassroots Advocacy Director and Deputy Director, Western Region.

In addition to his extensive nonprofit management experience, Joe spent seven years performing and managing telecommunications and wireless systems research and has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Economics/Systems Science from UCLA.

Joe serves on the Board of Directors of Death Penalty Focus, on the advisory board of GiveForward.org, and volunteers for the Sierra Club and Amnesty International.

Natasha Nummedal, Senior Campaign Manager

Natasha joined Care2 in May 2007, with a background in field organizing and grassroots organization from 18 years of volunteer and work experience in the human rights movement.

Prior to moving to California to join Care2's campaign team, she worked for Amnesty International USA's Urgent Action program and the YMCA of Boulder Valley.

Natasha has a BS in Mathematics and Philosophy from LSU, and a MA in Philosophy from the University of Colorado-Boulder, where she focused her studies around feminist ethics and rights theory. In her spare time, she can often be found roaming the trails of northern California with her husband and 80-lb "puppy."

Emily Logan, Senior Campaign Manager

Emily has been with Care2 since 2007 and has enjoyed working with the teams of Sierra Club, NRDC, American Humane Association, Environmental Defense Fund, The Wilderness Society, Planned Parenthood and many more. She now also helps nonprofits find a place for themselves on our cause blog channels.

Prior to coming to Care2, Emily worked as a features reporter for a newspaper in San Luis Obispo, CA. A life-long activist, she had volunteered with the Progressive Student Alliance, Amnesty International and Sierra Club. She has also recently served a term with AmeriCorps, leading a team of environmental education volunteers. She works in Care2's one-woman office in Portland, OR, and enjoys finding creative ways to keep herself entertained in the 9 months of rain each year. Her passions include organic farming and gardening, urban chickens, her kitties, self-publishing, printmaking, bookbinding, playing music and hiking.

Emily Vaughan, Online Campaigner

Emily joined Care2 in January 2010. Prior, she did energy and agriculture reporting for NationalJournal.com and worked on the editorial team for In These Times, a non-profit progressive magazine in Chicago. She began her advocacy career as a canvasser and field manager for Environment Illinois/U.S. PIRG, raising money to lobby for transportation funding, reduction of global warming pollution and stopping industrial waste dumping in the Great Lakes.

Emily is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where she focused on magazine writing and editing.

Colleen Hodgetts, Online Campaigner

Colleen Hodgetts is an Online Campaigner with Care2 and a recent transplant to San Francisco from the East Coast. She’s passionate about immigration reform, a living wage for all, and reproductive rights, among other things. Before joining Care2 she worked for several non-profits and helped build and run the website GenderAcrossBorders.com, a global voice for gender justice. In her free time you can find her reading blogs, newspapers, tweets, novels, and any other version of the written word.

Colleen is a graduate of Georgetown University where she focused her studies on Spanish, studying in both Spain and Ecuador, and Women's Studies.

Kayla Coleman, Campaigns Associate

Kayla joined Care2 in 2009 wanting to take her passion for animal rights and the environment to the next level. She studied Art and French at the University of California, Santa Barbara and always tries to bring a bit of creativity and an artistic eye her "je ne sais quoi," you might say to her campaign work. Some of her particular areas of interest include campaigning for laws against animal abuse, promoting humanity towards farmed animals, and educating as many people as she can about the importance of animal adoption.

In her spare time, Kayla draws, paints, runs, bakes vegan cookies, and spoils her pet rabbits.

Ellen Braverman, Campaigns Associate

Ellen joined Care2 in 2011 after working as an organizer with the Ohio Democratic Party. She studied Creative Writing and East Asian Studies at Oberlin College, and has been a passionate progressive activist longer than she's been able to walk. She has a particular interest in Feminist and LGBT activism, as well as a love of international relations spurred on by time living abroad in Japan. In her free time she reads an excessive amount, knits, spends time with her pet gecko, and practices her language skills by watching Japanese soap operas.

Kathleen Jercich, Activism Coordinator

Kathleen Jercich of Care2Kathleen Jercich joined Care2 in June 2011, after graduating summa cum laude from Cornell University with a B.A. in English and minors in Biological Sciences and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. At Cornell, she was a standing member of the Women's Resource Center Advisory Board, executive director of the 2011 Vagina Monologues, editor-in-chief of Kitsch Magazine, and a caving instructor with Cornell Outdoor Education. All of this cemented her continuing passions for the environment, reproductive rights, and LGBT advocacy.

As Care2's Activism Coordinator, she acts as a primary contact for members and activists who create, curate, and promote petitions about issues that are important to the Care2 community. She also provides technical support to our member petition creators and our nonprofit partners in order to grow and foster the Care2 community.

Sharanya Krishna Prasad, Senior Campaigns Manager

Sharanya Krishna Prasad of Care2Sharanya came to Care2 after gaining more than 10 years of strategic campaigning and policy experience from working with animal welfare and environmental nonprofits in the U.S. and India. She has been passionately committed to advocating for progressive causes since childhood. Originally from Chennai, India, Sharanya is a lifelong vegetarian and longtime vegan who endeavors to make the world a better place for all its inhabitants.

Prior to joining Care2, Sharanya worked at the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) as U.S. Campaigns Manager, Humane and Sustainable Agriculture. She has a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Policy and Conservation from American University and a certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Boston University.

Jay Cheng, Online Campaigner

Jay Cheng of Care2Jay was born in New York and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After going to college at UC Irvine in Orange County where he majored in Asian-American Studies, he was trained as a labor organizer in Boston, and most recently worked in state and local politics in San Francisco on behalf of Phil Ting for State Assembly.

Jay's childhood in Silicon Valley gave him an obsession with gadgets, and his training with East Coast labor has given him an obsession with ties. He comes to Care2 excited to work with the team and looking forward to being a part of the Care2 community!
