Corporate Accountability International is a membership organization that protects people by waging and winning campaigns challenging irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world. Since 1977, we’ve forced corporations like Nestlė, GE and Philip Morris/Altria to stop their abusive practices. We have active and ongoing campaigns targeting the water, tobacco, food and agribusiness and oil industries, and we are increasing our focus on the development of global institutions and mechanisms that can provide real checks and balances over transnational corporate conduct.

The Senior Organizer for International Policy will lead organizing on our Campaign Challenging Big Tobacco by: cultivating NGO and government allies to advance the global tobacco treaty and protect it from tobacco industry interference, producing reports and other materials, and organizing at international meetings and conferences. This staff leader will also develop and implement international policy projects related to our Campaign Challenging Corporate Control of Water and strengthen relationships with the World Health Organization, other United Nations bodies and NGOs working on corporate accountability issues in these arenas.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build capacity of NGO leaders around the world to challenge tobacco transnational interference in the global tobacco treaty.
• Monitor, document and expose tobacco transnational interference in the global tobacco treaty.
• Produce accurate, sourced reports on key topics, as defined by campaign plans.
• Organize at international meetings related to specific campaign objectives and corporate accountability measures in general.
• Cultivate contacts and maintain correspondence with organizational allies, including government officials in key countries.
• Monitor and analyze developments in the UN and WHO related to corporate accountability, water and tobacco.
• Ensure smooth functioning of DC office.
• Recruit, train and supervise interns.
• Participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising and campaign activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated commitment to corporate accountability, with an international perspective.
• At least five years experience as a full-time staff person in a progressive social change organization, including experience with international organizing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage organizing projects, develop and implement plans, and track results.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work well with a diverse group of people.
• Enthusiasm for national and international travel.
• Facility with quantitative analysis and spreadsheets.
• Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in one or more UN languages other than English [Spanish, French, Chinese, Russian, Arabic].

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Senior Organizer is accountable to the Director of International Policy.
SALARY RANGE: $36,000-$42,000, depending on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
