Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) is the international relief and development agency of the Episcopal Church of the United States. As an independent 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, ERD provides relief in times of disaster and promotes sustainable development by identifying and addressing the root cause of suffering. ERD is seeking a Donor Services Manager based in New York City.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for donor receipt management, implementing systems to track and respond to donations from various sources: - cash/checks to lockbox - website donations - monthly donations - outside web donations (Network for Good, etc) - stocks and bequests - matching gifts • Responsible for all donor acknowledgment and tax receipts: - major and minor letters - web site acknowledgment - honor/memorial gift cards - Gifts for Life catalog fulfillment • Responsible for donor services and assistance – respond to inquiries re: organizational information and donations. - Understand organizational structure and available resources in order to respond appropriately to inquiries • Work closely with External Affairs staff (VPEA, MGOs, Church Relations staff) - Provide regular reports to External Affairs gift officers on status of individual gifts • Work closely with Direct Response Marketing Manager and Database Manager • Supervise one assistant and temporary support as needed. • Reports directly to VP for Finance and Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5-7 years experience in customer service, gifts processing, direct mail management or related employment • Supervisory experience. • Experience working with outside direct mail or direct marketing vendors essential. • Experience with word processing, database applications and spreadsheet applications essential. Raiser's Edge and Microsoft Office knowledge essential. • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work sensitively and expeditiously with donors, resolve customer service issues with speed and tact. • Team player • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
