I can’t help but to think about the Haiti fundraising efforts, with all of the advertising on traditional mediums, and specifically the social media networks like facebook and twitter where the sole call to action is text “HELP” to a Mobile marketing phone number. This form of marketing makes it so easy to donate, when I personally saw the ad, I felt bad for Haiti and then I text the number, I know I am going to be charged $10 for doing so, but by texting it takes all of the work out of it, the money will appear on my bill and I will pay it when the pill comes, I didn’t have to go online someone, and register and log in then proceed to a secured website and give my credit card information to be charitable, all I had to do was text “HELP” to a simple number. Simple, I felt good and the ease of use made it easy for people to donate, and helped raise a ton of money for the Haiti relief efforts. I think if more and more fundraising groups can learn how to integrate this within their efforts the metter results they would receive, Boy I wish I could attend this event, I bet a lot of great ideas will be shared.
